Tejas Barbacoa Began in 1995 in Leon Valley Texas.
In 2001 We opened a second Location in Helotes, Texas.

Tejas Barbacoa is a traditional Barbacoa. Our specialty is cooking Barbacoa and making tortillas and tamales.
Tejas Barbacoa did not begin to sell Mexican or Tex- Mex food till 1997. Since then we have always made sure we
do not loose focus of our goal to be the best Barbacoa in Texas, and provide food requested by our customers.

We first opened our doors in 1995. Shown above My wife and oldest son leaving for the day. We had no stove and no Fryer on opening day. Since we were just going to sell Barbacoa and we had our cooking tank!


Business was growing and we kept remodeling to better serve our customers.

It was definitely time to open another.

by 2003 we added a drive thru!


Our Leon Valley Location after 10 years. My brother Maria our cook and me.
This location originally built to just sell Barbacoa, was constantly modified in order to accomodate dine in customers. But
unfortunatley the line to-go weaved through the people dinning!
This location was sold in 2005.

We use real fresh Texas grown Eggs!


We hand peel all our potatoes!


We produce Flour, Wheat and Ground Corn Tortillas!
